In January 2024, TFG contracted with the Upper Big Blue NRD (UBBNRD) to conduct a water quality improvement study for the Bruce A. Anderson Recreation Area (Recharge Lake) near York, Nebraska. TFG’s services for the project included project management, data collection and site assessment, nutrient loading assessment and fisheries evaluation, Best Management Practices (BMP) alternatives evaluation, report documentation and concept map preparation, and presentation to the NRD’s Board of Directors.
This report provided the NRD two alternatives with construction cost estimates and nutrient load reduction benefits to address water quality goals for the reservoir. These alternatives were presented in a scalable format to allow for evaluation of the NRD’s budget and maintenance capabilities and guide reservoir renovation design.
