In 2014 TFG contracted with the City of Lincoln-Watershed Management Department to develop a conceptual design for flood reduction in Antelope Creek trail underpasses at 84th Street and Old Cheney Road. Design considerations included minimizing both flow and sedimentation on the trail sections, and sediment capture from new construction in the watershed.
TFG provided the City a technical memorandum with cost benefit recommendations and received a contract extension to provide construction design services. TFG designed culvert inlet and outlet chutes, stable channel grading plans, a low water crossing and grade control structure, storm sewer modifications, and sanitary sewer encasement.
These elements serve to stabilize the channel, meet the trail flooding and sedimentation goals, and protect utility infrastructure while minimizing impacts to adjacent landowners.
